Florence City Council approved a "Flexible Service Maintenance Agreement" with ODOT on Monday. The agreement would allow each party access to equipment and personnel for a 2 year period. The examples given during the presentation by Mike Miller were that Florence Public Works was able to use some equipment from ODOT to improve 35th street. The other example was that ODOT occasionally used Public Works employees as flaggers.
The max amount for the agreement is $150,000, with $75,000 per agency per year. Mike Miller had also mentioned that the agreement can go as high as $250,000 in the event of unforeseen projects, or emergencies. The agreement expires March 31, 2027.
