Siuslaw Estuary Trail Grand Opening draws all ages crowd

The Siuslaw Estuary Trail opened on Wednesday morning to a crowd of all ages. Public works director Mike Miller said that there are still some finishing touches that need to be done, such as installing lights in the parking lot, and adding another bench along the trail. During the opening ceremony Chief Doug Barrett was asked to say a few words. Chief Barrett roasted the city saying, "I want to thank the city and everyone who put this together. I wish you would've left it a mud trail, but hey." The comment drew laughter from the crowd.
